MICHAEL G. JOHNSON · DALLAS REAL ESTATE
GUIDE UPDATED OCTOBER 4, 2026
Let the visit answer the right questions.
A relocation visit should help you understand a place, not just collect showings. Begin with the destinations that will shape your week: work, regular appointments, recreation, friends and the airport you expect to use. Then compare a small number of areas through a realistic day.
Michael’s real estate perspective and his independent Fora Travel affiliation can support two distinct parts of the process: discussing your property search and, if requested, arranging the travel around your visit. Each service has its own scope and terms.
An illustrative Dallas discovery itinerary.
- Before arrival: Share your timing, budget, requirements and key destinations. Discuss representation and availability for property appointments. Request hotels or transfers separately if helpful.
- Day one: understand the city. Explore two or three area clusters, test relevant routes and note the setting, services and property types. Keep time free to revisit your strongest impression.
- Day two: compare homes. Arrange confirmed appointments that test your priorities. Record ownership questions, meaningful differences and any concerns requiring specialist review.
- Before departure: Revisit the preferred location, discuss unanswered questions and agree on next steps. A useful visit can result in a refined brief rather than an immediate purchase.
This is a planning example, not a confirmed tour or a promise of property access. Appointments, supplier availability and representation requirements must be arranged.
Build a timeline around the whole move.
Consider the relationship between your existing home, financing, closing, possession and temporary accommodation. Include time for inspections, insurance decisions and practical arrangements. Avoid assuming that a property closing and a travel reservation can change on the same terms.
If you need a temporary stay, discuss location, parking, workspace, accessibility, pets, cancellation terms and likely length of stay. A convenient hotel for sightseeing may not be the best base for a working relocation visit.
Travel support, with a clear purpose.
Through Curated Travel, Michael can discuss hotels, airfare, packages, tours and activities, VIP airport services and ground transportation. Available arrangements depend on destination, suppliers and the agreed planning scope. Any benefits or upgrades require confirmation; they should never be assumed.
Travel inquiries go to Michael.johnson@fora.travel. Real estate representation remains separately arranged. You can use either service independently.
